Van Carter has over 24 years of combined experience in Affordable Housing Compliance, Housing Management, Financial Management, LIHTC, Project Base, RD, and other Rental Subsidy Programs. Van has held various roles from Compliance Manager, Compliance Specialist, Regional Property Manager, Property Manager, HUD Case Manager, and Program Manager. Each role has allowed her to utilize her skills and obtain the knowledge she has today to assist our clients and partners in the Affordable Housing Industry. Van is a Certified Manager of Housing, a Housing Credit Certified Professional, a Tax Credit Specialist, a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor and a HCV Rent Calculation Specialist. Van also holds an active FL and GA Real Estate Broker License.
Affordable Housing Is Important
An affordable, decent, suitable, and stable home is important for a healthy life. When households are able to comfortably afford their homes, they are able to spend money on food, clothing, health care, and other essentials needed.
Advocacy for Affordable Housing is a true passion for Van as she resided in affordable housing when she was a single mother at the age of 18. Her dedication and passion for the industry allows her to pay it forward by educating others about housing programs. Van has always been an individual that continues to learn and educate herself and share any knowledge with colleagues on compliance regulations and affordable housing updates. Affordable Housing serves the low to middle class income households and there is a shortage of this type of housing. We must do our best to house the individuals and families who qualify for affordable housing and maintain the compliance of these housing programs so our law makers, states, local government, funders, agencies, and developers can continue to bring forth more Affordable Housing.
